Looking to ‘Belong’

Many people are looking for somewhere to belong, and Church is a great place to find what you are looking for. We aim to be people who belong through fellowship. Sounds a religious phrase, I know, but it speaks of a real depth of friendship and trust, and this is only able to cultivated in the context of meeting with other Christians. Sundays and small groups are key for this, as are other social occasions. If you are new, or feel you are not getting to know people but would like to, do get in touch and we’ll help where we can. We recognise the value of friendship.

Why not ask for a free copy of our monthly magazine ‘Honeycomb’…?

The most powerful way to understand this area of Church life is to personalise it because this area, as in all five areas, can also be stated as a goal for every Christian. These goals express what God wants each of us to do with our lives. Try to personalise this goal below for yourself, then offer this prayerfully to God.

God wants me to be a MEMBER of his family.
This is the purpose of fellowship. The Bible is very clear that following Christ is not just a matter of believing. It also includes belonging. The Christian life is not a solo act. God has given us the Church as a spiritual family for our own benefit. Ephesians 2:19 (LB) says, “... You are members of God's very own family ... and you belong in God's household with every other Christian."

For many, the first step towards ‘belonging’ is to be baptised. To find out more view the page on baptism.
