Membership - Serving

Serving always says something significant about a person. It speaks of Jesus, who himself came to serve (Matthew 20: 28).

We want each person at Acland Road to have a servant heart. More than being something we are born with or can learn, this heart is usually something people ‘capture’ from others. Many people feel they can’t do anything or simply aren’t gifted, but that’s not how God sees us! The Bible affirms that every believer has something that he or she can contribute. At Acland Road I guarantee there is something that you will be able to do. You don’t need to be an expert, you simply need to be willing – willing to be involved and willing to learn…

We believe that the spiritual gifts are for today, and are eager that every person has an opportunity to discover the gifts that God has given to them. These gifts are to bless the Church as a whole, not to draw attention to any one particular person.
