Membership - Learning

Learning is relevant to all of us. I remember one elderly man in a residential home, Mr Churchill was his name, and after the monthly service we used to take there he would always say, “You can never stop learning.” How right he was. How humble too. None of us have got it all.

“Lifelong learning” is a phrase we hear much about today, but this should also be the aim of the Church too. Learning is key to becoming a more effective follower of Jesus Christ.

We encourage people to read and study their Bible regularly, daily if possible, but not to beat themselves over their heads if they miss a day…! We live in busy world and sometimes there might not be time. That’s OK, but we believe God’s Word should be a priority in our lives. At Acland Road we give FREE copies away of the quarterly devotional booklet, ‘The Word For Today’ and this has helped many people – not just in our setting but all over the world.

Learning is a strong feature of our ‘LIFE Groups’ too, not just from the leader but from one another. All are welcome here. There is a variety of days and times when these meet.
